Two of my favorite people ended up on the news last night. One for riding his bike in the cold. One for being an enabler.
Snakebite and The Owner keeping local cycling visible in early February.
Then there's the guy at the end. Please, just because he rides super-super-non-standard doesn't mean he deserves to be run over. At least he has a helmet on...
...his handlebars.
I see the one rider is a HFH program participant. And, a member of the US chapter of the IWROTL cyclists.
ReplyDeleteHFH: Helmets for Headsets
IWROTHL: I will ride on the left
Pretty great they found him on the left side navigating an intersection. The most dangerous thing you can do as an urban cyclist.
ReplyDeleteI was excited when I first caught this and then there was "THAT" guy. The one in a hundred guy that motorists will point out as to why we shouldn't be on the road. DOH!
ReplyDeleteI was pretty upset with the story. I'm not perfect but I thought it was irresponsible to show those two guys at the end. But I'm biased against my friends in the broadcast arts.
ReplyDelete"THAT" with his helmet off, on the wrong side of the road, also appeared to be navigating the intersection against a red light.
ReplyDeleteThe super-non-standard outnumbers the 100 club cyclists in town. I figure about 100,000+ non-standard riders in town. I joined the masses, at least without wearing a helmet over the winter and all was fine and legal.
