Report: February 20-26

Trips -
MinusCar: 9
Multi-occupant Auto: 7
Single occupant Auto: 2

It seems like I’ve been looking for results like these for a long time. Trips without a car equal to the number of times I sat in a car.

My Car Miles: 19
My Bike Miles/Hours: 44.5/3.4

And twice as many miles on my bike as on my car.

Awesome. How far is your one way ride to work? Mine is only 3.5 miles and I am starting to feel like a poser. It does allow me to bike every day though.

I think the only way to get people to think about alternative means of moving themselves is to not allow them to drive. In Ames here, the school does not allow much parking, and there are crazy amounts of bus/bike use. A model that I wish was more common.

I am also sad that the world's climate is changing drastically and no one will do anything about it because it upsets the economic model (definitly not the only reason, but what I've recently thought is the biggest).

Tim, my shortest route is about 6.5 miles. Often I find ways to go a extra to get an hours worth of exercise.

You're only a poser if you're pretending to be something you're not. There's no shame in living close to where you work. There's plenty of shame in living close and still driving.

Thanks for reading my blog and sharing some of my concerns.
