You are a transportation hobbyist, a dude who rides his bike around, and maybe you're the only one there that isn't in a suit.

In the ways of H.H.T.D.L., greet them all just as they are - human beings. Don't be impressed, intimidated, or the like, by titles. They are human beings, as you are, so treat them as such - your equal. Take a few cleansing breaths and then talk about what you want to talk about.
I did take the cleansing breath - got the question asked - and was intimidated anyway.
