Sioux Falls, The Bicycle Friendly Community

The League of American Bicyclists has awarded Sioux Falls a bronze level Bicycle Friendly Community.

See The League's press release.

See The Mayor unveil the signs tomorrow at 12:15pm at Cherapa Place.

Be there to tell The Mayor, and City Council, and Division Heads just how happy you'll be to attain the silver level by 2013, when The City has to reapply for the award.

Congrats Sioux Falls! Keep on being vigilant and don't rest on your laurels.

My fair city of Des Moines keeps missing their self appointed goal of bronze status by 2010. Rest assured the recommendations the LAB gave are acting as a friendly nudge for needed improvements for the city.

If the city would realize that more bike trails doesn't automatically equate to being more bike friendly we might have a good shot next year.
